CODE OF ETHICS

As a member of the World Association of Document Examiners, actively engaged in the profession of establishing proof of facts relating to the resolution of problems concerning the authenticity of documents or parts of documents, I dedicate myself to the thorough application of the standards of my profession.

I also pledge, in concert with other members of this Association, to promote the improvement of the standards in procedures, tests, and criteria practiced in my profession, through continued study, investigation and research.

It is my obligation, while searching for the truth in the interest of justice, to employ my technical knowledge with the utmost diligence.

My actions must avoid legal liabilities and be in full cooperation with the procedure and decorum of the court in which I am called to testify

My conduct, appearance, and deportment must, at all times and in all places, inspire confidence, assure confidentiality and reflect credit on myself and on the profession of document examination.

I acknowledge and accept these responsibilities, as so stated, and will make every effort to maintain quality skills and ethical practices in order to preserve the excellence of my profession as a Document Examiner.
